As previously communicated, from Nov 2023, technical support for Rsync and WebDAV as cloud destinations for BackupAssist Classic has ceased.
Known Issues
Rsync Incompatibility:
As Rsync services receive security updates, it is expected that existing BackupAssist Classic Rsync jobs will no longer be compatible and stop working.
WebDAV Performance:
WebDAV requires significant memory during backups when there is a large amount of data involved. As such, performance suffers as data grows – especially in devices with limited memory.
Recommended Alternative: S3-Compatible Storage
S3-compatible storage is a superior and more widely supported alternative that already exists and is supported in BackupAssist Classic.
