BackupAssist maintenance release v6.4.4 was released last week, including these important fixes and enhancements:
- Important fix for imaging backups of Hyper-V CSV
- Fixes for Turkish operating systems
- Fixes for the Test Connection feature
- Improved UI and behaviour in the SQL Restore application
The SQL Restore improvements start with the new Backup -> Restore -> Revert sequence for each database that is restored, where the Revert is used in case of restore failure. Logging from the SQL Server is also now shown on the screen, as well as details about what backup files are being restored. The underlying restore algorithm has also been simplified and stabilized, avoiding some errors seen by customers.
